Cleaning a Fabric Awning

Cleaning a fabric awning can help improve its appearance and prolong its lifespan. Here are some steps you can follow to clean a fabric awning

1. Brush off any loose dirt and debris with a soft-bristled brush or broom.

   

2. Mix a solution of mild soap and warm water. You can use a gentle dish soap or laundry detergent.

3. Apply the solution to the awning with a soft-bristled brush, working from the bottom up.

4. Let the solution sit on the awning for 10-15 minutes.

 

5. Use a water hose or pressure cleaner with a wide fan tip (Do not use an aggressive tip and stay at least 18” away from the fabric, making sure to remove all soap residue.

6. If your awning is retractable, allow the awning to air dries completely before retracting.
